TitleContribution to the direct limit state analysis of plastified and cracked structures
Résumé
The thesis consists of 10 chapters and 4 appendix with 280 pages. The
author contributes mainly in the following aspects:
- Extend and improve classical kinematical limit and shakedown theory
and numerical method. Numerical various aspects are investigated.
Efficient numerical techniques are proposed. The presented formulation
is implemented with various finite elements.
- Develop and improve an enhanced pipe elbow finite element, based on
the previous work of Bath and other authors. The developed pipe elbow
element allows us to modelle efficiently a complex pipe elbow structure
under extensive loads with low computing cost and easy data preparation.
- Explore direct limit analysis of cracked structure with effective
numerical technique.
- Develop and improve a finite-element based calculating software ELSA:
Elastic-plastic, Limit & Shakedown Analysis for pipe and general
structures. With this strong tool, large amounts of numerical
applications are presented in the thesis showing the efficiency of the
developed method.
